Loxone Modbus Extension
The Modbus Extension expands your Loxone system and allows:
- the reading of various meters such as gas, electricity and energy
- collection of statistical data from electricity, gas, water and energy meters
- the recording of consumption data for intelligent energy management
- ETL Listed
The Modbus interface for your building automation project
Whether in a smart home or any commercial building, the Modbus Extension can control all Modbus-based meters. Collect statistical data from electricity, gas, water and energy meters and record consumption data for intelligent energy management. The Miniserver sends commands to a device with a Modbus interface via the Modbus Extension.
Flexible expansion
Up to 32 Modbus devices can be controlled per Modbus Extension. Up to 20 extensions can be connected to the Miniserver without affecting the performance of the system. You can also use several Modbus Extensions on an installation.
Simple configuration
With the free Loxone Config software, you can get the Modbus Extension set up and ready to start sending and receiving commands in no time.

Installation Diagram

Graphic or Wiring diagram of Loxone Modbus Extension installed. In the diagram you see the Modbus Extension installed to the right of the Miniserver Gen 2. Both are powered by a DIN rail 24VDC power supply. The Miniserver, the power supply and the Modbus Extension are installed on a DIN rail which is attached inside the panel. To the left of the Miniserver is a DIN rail mounted 24VDC power supply. The power supply has a 2-conductor wire connected to the Miniserver to provide 24VDC power. From the top of the Miniserver is also a line indicating its attachment to the LAN via a network switch which is located outside and on the top of the panel. The Modbus Extension is also getting a blue cable from the Miniserver which indicates a Loxone Link Communication.
